Prince William and Novak Djokovic Centrepoint Award

Its turning out to be a royal blog this week as just 2 days after posting about the royal baby news I found myself stood right next to HRH Prince William!! This happened just before world number 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic was presented with a special Centrepoint award by the charity's patron, HRH The Duke of Cambridge, at the Winter Whites Gala in London's Royal Albert Hall. Prince William has been Centrepoint's patron since 2005, continuing his late mother Princess Diana's work. Proceeds from the gala night have been donated to Centrepoint to further its work in supporting homeless 16-25 year-olds in the UK. The Winter Whites Gala saw the Royal Albert Hall, which was hosting the Statoil Masters Tennis, transformed into an enchanted Winter Wonderland. Tennis greats John McEnroe, Bjorn Borg and Boris Becker all attended and I managed to sneak some photographs! See more on my facebook page.

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Baby

Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge following the announcement of their pregnancy. It's great to hear Kate is well enough to have left Hospital in London today after being treated for extreme morning sickness. It would be amazing to do the royal baby's first photography session! Newborn baby photography is a brand new specialist service I'm offering clients. Images are taken in the first 14 days of life and create beautiful memories while they are still tiny. Siblings Portrait Shoot

Hollie had a great portrait shoot with me last year and has recently introduced me to her new little brother Alfie! Sunshine, smiles and a great wedding

What a joy it was to be asked to shoot this wedding! I photographed Hannah's sister's wedding back in 2008 after I was recommended to her by another bride and groom. Since then I have enjoyed photographing the family on several occasions especially when there has been new arrivals! Hannah and Steve tied the knot a the Priest House Hotel near Castle Donnington. And for such a lovely couple it was nice to say it was one of the sunniest days of this rather wet year. The location is now one of my favourites to shoot because it allows for the kind of intimacy in pictures that I really enjoy capturing. And I think the images I took reflect this excellent choice of venue. Hannah and Steve were a joy to work with and Hannah as you can see below has a smile that would light up any room! I look forward to taking many more photos with this lovely couple and their delightful family over the coming years. See more wedding portfolio pictures on my website or see more images from this particular wedding on my Facebook page.

Wedding Winner!

I've received wonderful news today! I'm really excited as I've learned I have won the Master Photographers Association Mario Acerboni wedding category for the East Midlands and I now go forward to the national finals! The judges see 3 images from a wedding which must be one before, one during and one following the ceremony. See more on other titles I have won on my awards page.

Frost in Summer!

Joanne popped down the road in a tactor to say 'I do' and become Mrs Frost at St Leonard's church, Scarcliffe, Chesterfield. Arriving back home for a reception and evening party David and Joanne sang their way through the first dance while gliding round the dance floor with their guests. See more on Facebook.

Hellaby Hall Photography & Videography

Head over heals for each other Kelly and Jonathan tied the knot at Hellaby Hall Hotel, Rotherham on one of the few totally sunny days in 2012 so far! We were honoured to capture both the photographs and video for their amazing day. I had great fun too editing their video to their great choice of music! Silver Wedding Anniversary

Diane and Ian decided to celebrate their Silver Wedding in a very special way. Renewing their vows at St Peter and St Paul Church in Eckington, nr Sheffield, 25 years on with immediate family around them. The London Olympics 2012

Tractors and Horses

Rebecca and Rob's Wedding was a wonderful splash of colour on an extremely cold day weather wise. There was lots to enjoy with horses and tractors acting as official transport to the church and reception in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. From the Sea to the 'Shaw' Wedding

Where is time flying too, I can believe its August already and we are still waiting for summer! Here is a spring wedding photo from Sarah and Simon Shaw's wedding at St Alkmunds Church, Duffield followed by a reception at Dovecliff Hall near Burton upon Trent. I hope married life is going well and I get to see you both again at Susan's wedding.

Winner Complete Wedding Photographer of the Year 2012!

I'm delighted to announce for the third consecutive year I have been awarded the honour of Complete Wedding Photographer of the Year! I'm thrilled to pick up this award from the Master Photographer Association East Midlands, the only full time professional photographer association in the UK. This is an especially hard award as you have to put forward 10 images to show your standards across the whole day, not just one image.  Here for you to see though is one of the images in the panel of 10 pictures presented to the Judge from Sara and Patrick's wedding at Cusworth Hall, South Yorkshire. New Address

Sorry I've been very quiet on both my blog and Facebook recently.  I have been moving my premises and its been taking up a lot of time - don't panic I am still within Dronfield I haven't gone far!  Now I'm relocated I can get get on with posting some wedding images and I have further exciting news to share with you, so watch this space!

This week I've been to the annual trade show Focus on Imaging at the NEC in Birmingham. Its a great opportunity to see what the new ideas and products are available to showcase your photographs. Photo Surprise!

Margaret was having a family weekend away to celebrate a big birthday. The venue chosen was the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District, on my doorstep, and daughter Linda got in touch about a surprise present. I arrived under the guise of mending the hot tub(!)...only to set up my photography kit and take a range of family portraits to remember a very special weekend of everyone altogether. Wedding Venue Visits

As a professional photographer I always carry out a venue visit before a wedding to look a the best options for photographs in different weather conditions, so not to waste any time on the big day.  And boy am I excited about this years new locations, clients you have got great taste and I can't wait to get shooting at your venues! To name just a couple these are Dovecliff Hall Hotel and the Priest House Hotel.

Don't be shy!

Elizabeth came to the studio feeling shy, but within minutes was at ease and creating lovely pictures. Often people say they don't like having their photo taken, but the environment is friendly and relaxing and really its good fun. There is nothing to be scared of, I promise, its much more fun than going to the dentist - not that I have anything against dentists, but it usually hurts! Check out more portraits in my gallery.

Long Distance Love

Groom Jay travelled over 3500 miles to say I do to bride Kimberley after being kept apart in the run up to the wedding due to work commitments on the other side of the world.  But they made up for lost time with a very special day and incorporated Christmas into the whole event too. They chose two beautiful locations to celebrate at, the first being Bolsover Castle and the second Whitley Hall. Thanks again for being game for everything too!
